Enrichment Programme
In addition to the broad range of clubs, sports and musical opportunities on offer, all Fifth and Fixth Formers participate in our timetabled Perse Enrichment Programme. This takes place on alternate Monday afternoons. There are also Field Weekends in the Michaelmas and Lent terms, when the full day (and for some activities, the weekend) is available for Enrichment activities.
Our aim is to help every pupil in the Fifth and Sixth Forms to participate in something exciting, challenging and useful.
Fifth Form pupils opt for the CCF Army or RAF sections, for The Perse Exploration Society, or for one of the wide variety of Community Service activities.
In the Sixth Form, the range of activities on offer broadens to include activities such as Archaeology, Law, Film Studies and Woodwork.
For some pupils, activities such as hospital placements and Law are a valuable way of thinking through decisions about Universities or careers.
![]() | Enrichment Art (designed for pupils not studying art) gives pupils the opportunity to experiment with a variety of techniques including dry point etching, monoprinting painting, paper making and mixed media work. Pupils are given a choice of starting points/themes to consider and these act as a point of departure on a journey of exploration and investigation. |

Many value the opportunity to spend time with elderly people or helping in schools as part of their Community Service placement, or to carry out practical conservation work around Cambridge.
Others simply enjoy the challenge of learning new skills – an unfamiliar language, Art or Cookery.
Many pupils also use Enrichment activities as part of the Skills or Service sections of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
The precise range of activities varies from year to year. The list below gives a flavour of the activities offered in 2007-8.
