Duke of Edinburgh

Overview

DoEThrough their involvement in the Enrichment Programme, many pupils are working towards a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The aim of the scheme is to broaden experiences and to develop independence of mind as well as self-reliance.  The scheme is highly regarded nationally by employers and universities alike.  The Award has four components: Service, Skill, Physical Recreation and Expedition. In addition, the Gold Award requires a Residential project.

We currently offer support for the Silver and Gold Awards.  A Silver expedition takes place at the end of the summer term and training for this is provided during the Easter term. The Gold expedition section is completed via an ‘open expedition’ which enables Perse pupils to team up with participants from other schools and backgrounds.
