Fees

The fees (excluding lunch) for the academic year 2007 - 2008 are £4,123 per term, £12,369 per year exclusive of lunch. All First and Second Form pupils have School lunch (£172 a term); thereafter pupils may continue with School lunch or bring their own packed meal. The fees cover the cost of books and stationery, and are paid on or before the first day of term.

Accounts not paid by the first day of term will be charged interest. Fees are reviewed annually, and the fees for the following year are usually announced at the end of March.

The securing fee

In addition to the fees listed above, there is a non-returnable securing fee that secures a pupil’s place. The intention behind this is to benefit all candidates and their parents, as follows:-

a) By lessening the likelihood of places being accepted in March and then declined later in the year – by which time those on the waiting list may already have accepted places elsewhere, even though they would really have liked a place here. Linked to this…

b) By lessening the need to put pupils on the waiting list at all. Experience shows that those put on the waiting list and subsequently offered places often have doubts at that stage about whether they would actually be comfortable here – even though our past experience is that many such pupils have done extremely well.

We ask parents who are offered places to accept them only if they are sure that they really wish their sons and daughters to take them up. In exceptional circumstances such as possible relocation later in the year, the School will be as reasonable as it can, if parents discuss this with the Head. The terms of acceptance of a place include a signed declaration by parents that a term's fees will be paid if a place is accepted and the pupil is subsequently withdrawn.

The securing fee is set at £200 for 11+ entry, £500 for 13+ entry (but only £300 for 13+ candidates who are offered bursaries) and £200 for Sixth Form entry.
